Sudden Weight Gain and Bloating

Most of us tend to think that sudden weight gain is a problem and it indicates poor health.

This is not the case because people with good health can gain weight normal without any alarm.

But sudden weight gain and bloating which has no explanation can be harmful to health and for the well-being of a person.

It is thus very important to not when there is insignificant weight gain and significant weight gain-which will signify a health problem.

Bloating can result to a serious health problem. This can be as a result of diet change and some medications one may be undergoing.

The following are causes of sudden weight gain and bloating.

  • Certain Treatments results in rapid weight gain

Our bodies can retain fluid-like substances due to the certain medications which result in weight gain and bloating.

This rapid weight gain is a result of body swelling and possible edema effect from the extra fluid. Lithium, anti-depressants, steroid, and tranquilizers care some medications which cause weight gain.

  • Heart diseases

Certain heart conditions such as heart failure can cause sudden weight gain.

Heart failure of the heart to pump blood efficiently to all body parts. Heart failure can result in fluids being retained and swelling of the body.

Swelling is mainly experienced in the abdomen, feet and fluid retention in the lungs which causes weight gain and shortness of breath respectively.

This problem can be treated by a change of lifestyle and prescription of treatments and reducing the amount of salty foods you consume and weight loss.

  • Women Cycle

The days preceding menstrual days can result in rapid weight gain and bloat in some women.

This is as result of syndrome experienced after menstruation. This results in other effects like pains in the back and appetite and mood change.

Women who are pregnant may experience sudden weight gain and bloat. Although this can be due to high blood pressure induced by pregnancy and other symptoms.

  • Depression

Depression is a health condition and a mood disorder which takes quite a long time ranging from 8-10 months.

It is caused by many situations such as sadness, feeling blue, losing interest in usual daily activities.

This condition may result in the change of eating habits, for example, one may start eating more frequently and consumption of more food than usual which can result in sudden weight gain and bloat.

  • Eating More Food

Rapid rapid weight gain can be experienced if one starts eating more.

This habit is usually during holidays and when weather conditions change.

During winter holiday’s people usually switch off from the normal routine of diet and body exercise-people consume large amounts of food and do fewer exercises thus resulting into rapid weight gain and possible bloating.

  • Anxiety can result in sudden weight gain

This is a feeling being unease which maybe fears or worry that can be acute or mild.

One can feel worried about many different things such as flying for the first time and about having a break-through in a certain complex task.

Anxiety can be said to be a disorder and they are different.

When they prolong they can hamper one from carrying on with the normal life.  Change in the normal life results in a shift of lifestyle.

Conclusion

Eating habits change resulting to sudden rapid weight gain and bloating due to fluid retention in the body. This problem can be treated.
