Nearly three months ago, news from various media surfaced out of China reported that multiple cases of noval Coronavirus in the central city of Wuhan. It has been close to 90 plus days since this outbreak has happened and since then the global situation has changed drastically.

Do you know most of the world’s biggest sporting event Olympics, political events, entertainment have all been suspended. Schools and colleges, corporate offices, retail outlet across many countries remain closed. Many countries have announced a complete lockdown after World Health Organization announcing CoronaVirus disease a Pandemic and no more an epidemic.

India, the largest democracy has announced 21 days lockdown due to Coronavirus. Although a tough exercise, all of its 1.3 billion plus people have been put on a lockdown mode.

Lets see how life has changed since Corona virus struck and its impact globally

Public Gathering:

All festivals, sports season and list of other events have been either cancelled or suspended in the recent days.

 

Organizers and event management companies are trying their best to cancel all scheduled meetings as possible due to the outbreak. All these changes in life for a short period will saves life of ours and many around us.

Economy:

Dow Jones Industrial average has seen a biggest single day decline around 10% something similar to the Black Monday Crash which happened in 1987.

All other major markets around the globe has seen major decline due to the outbreak and many financial analyst predicts that the markets will continue its volatility until the situation comes under control.

Travel:

Donald Trump has announced a 30 days ban on some travel from Europe to the United Status. This is refered as Schengen zone travel restriction which includes countries in Europe like Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Ireland and United Kingdom.

Almost all major countries have travel restrictions in place due to COVID-19 and actions are being taken to restrict mobility.

Panic Buying:

Due to the lockdown in many places for few weeks to a month, many people have started to buy grocery items in bulk. Recent developments around this pandemic and government’s action around this issue has made the people to do Panic buying.

Most sought out item turned out to be Sanitizer and face masks. Reports reveal that some Pharma drug retailers sell these essential sanitizer and face masks more than its price due to severe surge in demand.

Indian Cities Goes Quiet as COVID-19 cases rise

The world’s largest democracy and world’s second most populous country grapples with CoronaVirus outbreak and the life in India has changed dramatically

Since government of India has announced a 3 week lockdown, all of its crowded and chaotic cities have quietened down as people stay home, weddings shrink in size and there is no traffic. Air quality level index have improved in its cities and most of its rivers are becoming more cleaner.

The country’s busiest airport – Indira Gandhi International Airport appears deserted. Government of India has restricted entry for everyone including its citizens flying from certain countries like UK, most European nations. Most of the flights remain cancelled and this has led to countless flight booking cancellations.
